This model comes FULLY ASSEMBLED and ready for display. The hull is constructed using plank on frame method, each strip of exotic wood are carefully join together to form a smooth hull. Master craftsmen handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch using historical photographs, drawings and original plan. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as: western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. Our model was built according to scale through original plans, pictures and drawings. We absolutely use no plastic parts only the highest quality wood and metal parts. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. This is a fantastic model built from western red cedar and mahogany. The hull is varnished with multiple layers to give it a glossy look. History:
“12 Apostolov” entered service in 1983 as a part of the Black Sea Fleet. She is well-known as pre-dreadnought battleship built for the Imperial Russian Navy, the sole ship of her class. . Its lower deck had twenty-eight 68-pounder guns designed by the Russian artillerist Lekhner. On the other two decks, there were 36 and 24-pounder guns. Although the ship was titled "120-gun," the ship actually carried 130 guns. The decoration of the model reproducing the rich decoration of the battleship makes it possible to achieve similarity to the original.
