Measuring an impressive 37 inches in length, this larger-scale replica showcases the extraordinary craftsmanship and ornate beauty that made the legendary Spanish galleon one of the most admired warships of its era.
Built by master artisans using traditional plank-on-frame construction, each model requires more than 200 hours of meticulous handcrafting. Premium hardwoods including rosewood, ebony, and mahogany are carefully selected to create the smooth multi-layered hull and richly detailed decks. The larger size allows every handcrafted feature-from the hundreds of brass cannons and decorative ornaments to the intricate stern galleries and lanterns-to be appreciated in exceptional detail.

History:
The San Felipe, launched in 1690, was one of the most beautiful Spanish galleons of the XVII century. She was the lead ship of the famous Spanish Armada. The San Felipe displaced more than 1000 tons and was armed with 96 cannons, enabling her to take on the most formidable ships in the French and British navies. The San Felipe's role in the war against the British and French was to help protect Spanish settlements and harbors, to transport treasures, and to safeguard the long and hazardous passage back to Spanish ports. In 1705, the San Felipe participated in a furious and heroic battle between 12 Spanish ships and 35 British ships. After 24 hours of battle, she was captured by an English ship, but was so badly damaged that she could not be salvaged as a prize. She went down to the bottom of the ocean with several tons of gold.

You will not be disappointed. As a model builder for over 35 years to have one of these built this well over $3000 as you can purchase that here for 1/3 the price!!!

It had a wooden scaffolding attached to styrofoam and made it all in one piece. The workmanship of the rigging and sails is unbelievable, and the colors of the wood on the sailboat provide such a look of authenticity. Love the craftsmanship and beauty!

Comment: Wonderful surprise and the outer cartoon had no noticeable damage. The inner wooden crate was pristine and the ship had no damage on this, the busiest time of the year! The 38”ship is gorgeous with just a minor blemish on the front hull. So I put an anchor there from another model ship. Looks good too. Set it up on the top of a bookcase, out of reach of the cats, and it is an attention grabber looking up at it. Unpacked it outside and easy cleanup that way. Especially the white foam particles that were not many. Well word the $$..
