Revered for its elegance, performance, and unmistakable silhouette, the Ariston became a defining symbol of Mediterranean luxury boating. Our 21-foot custom-built interpretation faithfully honors the proportions, styling, and spirit of this iconic design.
Our workshop recreates this historic model using premium marine materials-including Western Red Cedar, Mahogany, Teak, and U.S.-made Hexcel fiberglass-sealed with System Three marine spar varnish. Each vessel is entirely handcrafted using the traditional plank-on-frame construction method, requiring approximately 4-5 months of meticulous craftsmanship. The signature tumblehome stern, sweeping foredeck, split windshield, and high-gloss mahogany finish are preserved to reflect the unmistakable Ariston character.

History:
The Riva Ariston was introduced in 1950 by the renowned Riva shipyard on Lake Iseo, Italy, under the direction of Carlo Riva. Emerging during the post-war economic revival, the Ariston marked a turning point in European pleasure boating-combining advanced hull design with refined Italian styling.
Named after the Greek word meaning "the best," the Ariston quickly became one of Riva's most successful early models. Its deeper-V hull offered improved handling and smoother performance compared to earlier flat-bottom runabouts, while its elegant tumblehome stern and mirror-polished mahogany decks established the aesthetic language that would define Riva throughout the 1950s.
Throughout its production run in the 1950s, the Ariston gained popularity among European elites and international enthusiasts, symbolizing speed, craftsmanship, and Mediterranean sophistication. It laid the technical and stylistic foundation for later legendary Riva models, cementing its place as a cornerstone in the golden age of Italian wooden runabouts.
Today, the Riva Ariston remains one of the most respected and collectible classic runabouts-an enduring icon of mid-century marine design.
