The boat can be fully customized to your preferences, including dimensions, wood selection, finish, cockpit details, upholstery, and personalized markings.

History:
The Baby Bootlegger is one of the most celebrated wooden speedboats of the early 20th century, representing the height of American craftsmanship and racing innovation during the Prohibition-era 1920s. Designed by the legendary naval architect George Crouch and built by Henry Nevins in 1924, the boat was engineered to dominate the prestigious Gold Cup races—America’s premier powerboat competition at the time. With its long, torpedo-shaped hull and sleek low-profile cockpit, Baby Bootlegger introduced a revolutionary approach to hydrodynamic design, achieving both exceptional speed and remarkable stability on the water.
Powered by a converted Hispano-Suiza aircraft engine, the original Baby Bootlegger delivered an extraordinary level of performance, allowing it to win the Gold Cup in both 1924 and 1925. These victories cemented its reputation as one of the most iconic wooden racers ever created. Beyond its racing achievements, the boat became a symbol of elegance and engineering mastery, admired for its flawless mahogany planking, flowing lines, and mirror-finish craftsmanship.
Nearly a century later, Baby Bootlegger remains an enduring icon—an inspiration for collectors, boatbuilders, and enthusiasts who appreciate the artistry and innovation of classic wooden speedboats. Its timeless silhouette continues to define the golden age of powerboat design.
