USS McInerney (FFG-8) was commissioned into the United States Navy in 1979 as an Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided missile frigate. Named after Vice Admiral Francis McInerney, the ship was designed to provide fleet escort and anti-submarine warfare support for carrier battle groups.
The frigate participated in numerous maritime security missions, NATO operations, and anti-drug patrols during its service career. USS McInerney later served in the Pakistani Navy after being transferred in 2010.
