Description:
The Anabelle is a charming 10-foot classic wooden skiff designed by William Atkin, celebrated for her light weight, graceful proportions, and exceptional versatility on the water. Simple, practical, and beautifully balanced, Anabelle represents the essence of traditional small-boat design—elegant in form, efficient in function, and timeless in character.
This 30 inches custom-made scale model is handcrafted upon request, faithfully reproducing Anabelle’s distinctive flared topsides, nearly flat bottom, and refined sheer line. Built using premium Western Red Cedar, Teak, Mahogany, and other carefully selected exotic hardwoods, the model follows the traditional plank-on-frame construction method. Each project requires approximately 4–5 months of skilled craftsmanship to complete.
Every structural and aesthetic detail is meticulously recreated, from the rounded stem and narrow stern to the clean, open interior layout. Throughout the production process, you will receive photo updates at each key stage, allowing you to review and approve progress before moving forward:
- Hull framing and planking
- Deck and interior detailing
- Final painting, varnishing, and finishing touches
Once completed and approved, the model will be securely packed in a custom-built wooden crate with reinforced protection, ensuring safe international delivery.

History:
Anabelle, a 10-foot flat-bottom skiff by William Atkin, was conceived as a light, economical, and easy-to-build small boat—ideal for those seeking a practical tender with generous stability.
Her nearly straight bottom promotes effortless rowing and gives her surprising speed under an outboard, and in a sister boat Atkin praised her excellent handling under a simple daggerboard and leg-o-mutton sail.
Built with white cedar planking and spruce scantlings, she reflects Atkin’s belief in lightweight, durable materials, resulting in a skiff that is strong, responsive, and long-lasting when properly maintained.
