Description:
The Riva Scoiattolo 14' is one of the earliest and most charming speedboats produced by Riva, representing the origins of Italian wooden boat craftsmanship after World War II. Compact, elegant, and perfectly balanced, the Scoiattolo laid the foundation for the legendary Riva runabouts that followed.
This custom-made replica is handcrafted upon request, using premium Western Red Cedar, Teak, Mahogany, and select exotic woods. Built with the traditional plank-on-frame construction method, the model faithfully reproduces the hull lines, deck layout, cockpit details, and classic Riva styling. Each project requires approximately 4–5 months to complete.
Museum-grade attention is given to every detail. During the build, you will receive photo updates at each key production stage, allowing you to review and approve the progress:
1. Hull construction and planking
2. Deck detailing, cockpit structures, and fittings
3. Final painting, varnishing, and finishing touches
Upon final approval, the completed model will be carefully packed in a custom wooden crate with reinforced cushioning, ensuring safe worldwide shipping.

History:
The Riva Scoiattolo was introduced during the early years of Carlo Riva’s leadership, as the company transitioned toward its future identity in international luxury boating. Conceived as a compact runabout, the Scoiattolo offered an entry point to the Riva tradition without compromising build quality.
Produced in limited numbers, it was valued for its reliability, restrained design, and careful woodworking. The model reflected Riva’s focus on functional elegance, laying the groundwork for later, more widely known designs.
Today, original Scoiattolo boats are highly sought after, and handcrafted replicas preserve the understated character of this early Riva classic.
