History:

The USCGC Cape Small is a 180-foot vessel built to serve as a buoy tender for the U.S. Coast Guard. Commissioned in the 1970s, it was specifically designed to maintain aids to navigation and provide environmental protection and search-and-rescue operations. Operating in the northeastern United States, Cape Small played a significant role in keeping maritime lanes safe, especially along the New England coast.
