Named after the legendary USRC Bear, a cutter known for its role in Arctic rescue missions, this modern vessel has upheld its namesake's legacy by performing diverse missions, including drug interdiction, fisheries enforcement, and search and rescue. Bear has been pivotal in counter-narcotics operations in the Caribbean, seizing significant quantities of illegal drugs during its patrols.
