Description:

The King of Mississippi wooden steamship was a famous steam-powered boat that sailed throughout the Mississippi River. This boat was featured in Mark Twain's novels Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. It is now available as a FULLY ASSEMBLED model ready to be proudly displayed as a piece of history.

Master craftsmen handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch using historical photographs, drawings, and original plans. They are built to scale with high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. They are 100% hand-built individually using plank-on-frame construction methods and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each wooden steamship requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop.

The King of Mississippi steamer boat includes a four-level deck with numerous details. You will find the wooden steam propeller on the back. There is an opening on the first deck where you can look inside the cabin. Each deck floor has its own stairs to lead you up or down. The railings are made out of metal that can be seen on each floor. Four black smokestacks are on the third and fourth decks.

The steamboat on the Mississippi is secured tightly on a solid wooden base with a brass nameplate. It'll make a perfect gift for a home or office decorator, boat enthusiast, or passionate collector.

History:

The King of Mississippi Paddlewheel Steamboat is a significant symbol of American culture and a vital part of water transportation history. First emerging in the mid-19th century, these vessels transformed travel and trade along the Mississippi River. With powerful paddlewheels, the steamer model navigated shallow waters, making it easier to transport goods like cotton and grain.

Onboard, the steamboat model provided more than just transportation; paddle steamship offered a lively social experience. Passengers enjoyed entertainment such as live music and dancing, along with delicious Southern cuisine. This blend of leisure and travel helped forge connections among diverse communities along the river.

During the Civil War, the King of Mississippi steamer model also played a crucial role, serving as a military asset for troops and supply transport. Today, steamer boat continues to captivate audiences through Mark Twain's literature and riverboat tours. More than just a historical replica, this wooden steamship represents a rich heritage that connects generations and instills pride in America's maritime legacy.
