High-grade wood strips, kiln-dried for durability, are expertly joined by hand before being encased in fiberglass and bonded with epoxy resin. A final coat of marine varnish preserves the wood's natural beauty for generations to come.
The Gondola boats undergo a rigorous quality control process, ensuring impeccable craftsmanship. Taking 600-800 hours or more to complete, every detail is meticulously attended to, elevating each venetian gondola from mere transportation to a true work of art.
At the front, there's a Fèrro, often decorated with designs like seahorses or mythical creatures. Opposite to this, at the back, you'll see the gondolier standing. Then, there's the single oar used to move the gondola. It's long, lopsided, and needs a specific way of rowing for good steering. Finally, there's a Fórcola for the oar, found at the back on the right side. It's made intricately to help control the direction of the gondola precisely. Each holder is made to fit the gondolier's height and needs, so they're all unique.

History:
The Venetian Gondola has been around in Venice since the 11th century, and people started talking about it by name in 1094. Back in the 17th and 18th centuries, there were loads of gondolas at the venetian - maybe eight to ten thousand! But now, there are only about four hundred gondolas at venetian still being used. Most of them are for tourists who want to take a ride.
The familiar arc of the gondola with its spiky iron prow decorations with From the 1700s onwards, gondolas started getting fancier oarlocks, upholstery, and carving. They also got their unique lopsided shape, which helps rowers paddle better. Since the late 1800s, gondola builders have made the left side of the boat wider than the right. This clever design helps balance the force from the rower, letting them glide smoothly through tight spots without lifting their oar out of the water, all while rowing from the right side.
Well-suited to the conditions of the Venetian canals and lagoon, gondolas are typically propelled by a gondolier using a single oar. One unique feature of the gondola is its asymmetrical design, which makes single-oar propulsion more efficient. For centuries, gondolas were a primary means of transportation and the most common watercraft in Venice. Although their numbers have declined over time, Venetian gondolas still play a role in the city's transportation, mainly for tourists, and continue to symbolize Venice.
